Discuss the Questions
Here are the questions our panel faced this week. Tell us what your answer would be or what you think our panellists need to say.
TOO LONG TO WAIT
PETER KING asked: Mr Katter, considering the total votes cast for yourself, Mr Oakshott and Mr Windsor represent less than one percent of enrolled voters, do you truly believe it is reasonable that Australians have remained in “caretaker” Government limbo since the election, as we await your collective decision? Would you care to give us any indication now of what we may be watching on the news tomorrow night?

DELAY IN PASSING LEGISLATION
JESSICA BRAUDE asked: If it takes this long to form a government, how long is it going to take to pass any legislation?
What do you think?
BEATTIE MINORITY GOVERNMENT
SILVIA MALKI asked: Peter, in the 1998 elections you won only a total of 44 out of 89 seats and you formed a minority government with the assistance of Independent MP Peter Wellington. Just 3 years later, in 2001, you were able to win a majority of 66 seats out of a total of 89 seats, effectively a 50% increase in the number of seats and a clear mandate from the people of Queensland. Do you believe an equivalent swing in the next Federal election could conceivably occur?
What do you think?
KATTER & GAYS
MORGAN SMALLBONE asked: During the election campaign, I heard one of your constituents, a gay baker, say that you had claimed there were no gay people in your electorate. Do you believe that your wilful ignorance on such issues as homosexuality are appropriate in this day and age, and are becoming of an MP holding the balance of power in a parliament that represents all Australians, not just the homosexual-free Utopia of Kennedy?
What do you think?
ABBOTT BACK TO OLD WAYS?
PENELOPE PARKER asked: Throughout the course of the election campaign many have suggested that we saw a new and improved Tony Abbott who barely put a foot out of line. Now that the campaign is over, we have seen Tony Abbott back flip on whether or not to submit his costings to Treasury, foolishly make premature declarations that the coalition was a government in waiting and throw a billion dollars at Mr Wilkie to try to win his support. Have we seen the old Tony Abbott remerge?
What do you think?
GREENS THE 'TAXING PARTY'
BEVERLEY GRIFFITHS asked: The Greens website has 363 policy positions, of which 81 relate to the environment and Climate Change. Among all this we find plans for estate tax, carbon tax, extra income tax, fuel reduction tax, anti coal tax and of course the mining tax –all prefaced by Policy Number 9 which tells us that the GST is bad! Isn’t it time that The Greens came clean and acknowledged that The Green Way is the Tax Way and that The Greens really know best what to do with our money?
What do you think?
TARIFFS AND TAXES
MANDY PFEIFFER asked: Without the introduction of subsidies and tariffs to assist farmers, are we at risk of losing our major agricultural industries to foreign competition? And, if it is not through subsidies and tariffs, what will/should the government do to help our farmers compete on the world market?
